Let us not love with words, but with actions and truth (1 John 3:18).
Mary Mac's Place
Our parish has been providing donated non-perishable goods on a regular basis for many years. The wicker baskets in the foyer of our church are filled with goods, which are delivered to the pantry of Mary Macs Place, along with the fabulous response of our annual Harvest Thanksgiving Sunday donations which include fresh fruit and vegetables!
A real sense of commitment by St Matthew's to help make a difference for those in need in our local community is achieved through supporting this worthy cause for the homeless.
Mary Mac’s Place project is an initiative of St John the Baptist Parish, Woy Woy, and is managed and operated by Catholic Care. It’s open to anyone who is down on their luck, homeless or transient.
Mary Mac’s Place provides social, community and friendship opportunities for men, women, families, young people, the elderly and the socially and economically disadvantaged.
Mary Mac’s Place is not funded and relies on donations or grants to provide this service to our community. Sadly we have seen an increase in need in this community and others.
A team of volunteers serves up 100 meals per day, 5 days a week, using quality ingredients generously donated by the community and local businesses from the Ethel Cox Centre (100 Blackwall Road, Woy Woy NSW 2256 or phone 02 4341 0584).
